5430 Peak Triathlon
The second triathlon in the 5430 series is an olympic race starting in the Boulder Res, biking north of boulder, and ending with a run at the Boulder Res. I finished the 1500m swim in 27:03, the 42k bike in 1:23:05 (18.8 mph) and the 10k run in 58:32 (9:27 pace). I finished with a total time of 2:51:42 placing 531/1317. It was my second triathlon this year… It was hot, but it was great to be back racing.
Triple Bypass

Triple Bypass is a monster… intimidating and a little insane. Sign me up
120 miles from Evergreen to Avon over Squaw (11,140 ft.), Loveland (11,990 ft.), Swan Mountain and Vail (10,560 ft.) passes, with over 10,000 ft. of lung-busting gain in elevation! I signed up with one of my coworkers Gear and found a few others on the ride Joe and Bill. I was feeling great and the weather couldn’t have been better. I took some long breaks at a few of the stops to keep everyone together. My Garmin Edge battery died before getting to the top of Vail Pass… Guess I will have to do it again.
5430 Sprint Triathlon
The first of the 3 triathlons in the Boulder Peak Series, it was a great start to my first season back into triathlon since 2005. The 5430 Sprint Triathlon swim was 1/2 mile long and was a single loop in the Boulder Res. I finished the swim in 14:31… The bike course was a really familiar 17.2 miles for me since it was in my stomping grounds. I finished the bike in 49:31 averaging 20.8 mph. The run course was 3.1 miles around the Boulder Res. I finished the run in 27:16 averaging a 8:48 pace. My total time was 1:34:58 placing me 352/1068. It was a great event to start the year and I can’t wait for the next 5430 series race.

Bolder Boulder 10k
The Bolder Boulder is definitely the largest running event I have ever been in. The organization of the event is second to none. Everyone is staged based on their pace which makes the race very fast even though there are masses in the event. The run went great, I was getting dragged along by a fellow participant most of the race.. to be dropped in the last 1/2 mile. I have to give him a little credit for forcing me to go 100%, finishing in 52:07:86 at a 08:23 pace. Yeah, that was faster than Leah
Tierra Bella Century Ride
Keigo and I met up in CA to do Tierra Bello, a century ride south of San Francisco. We took a wrong turn in the beginning and had to do some work to catch up to the pack, it was a good thing we could time trial for a bit. Even though it ended with a flat tire, it was a great event. I will probably go out again in an upcoming year.
