Triple Bypass

Triple Bypass is a monster… intimidating and a little insane. Sign me up :) 120 miles from Evergreen to Avon over Squaw (11,140 ft.), Loveland (11,990 ft.), Swan Mountain and Vail (10,560 ft.) passes, with over 10,000 ft. of lung-busting gain in elevation! I signed up with one of my coworkers Gear and found a few others on the ride Joe and Bill. I was feeling great and the weather couldn’t have been better. I took some long breaks at a few of the stops to keep everyone together. My Garmin Edge battery died before getting to the top of Vail Pass… Guess I will have to do it again.

Bolder Boulder 10k

The Bolder Boulder is definitely the largest running event I have ever been in. The organization of the event is second to none. Everyone is staged based on their pace which makes the race very fast even though there are masses in the event. The run went great, I was getting dragged along by a fellow participant most of the race.. to be dropped in the last 1/2 mile. I have to give him a little credit for forcing me to go 100%, finishing in 52:07:86 at a 08:23 pace. Yeah, that was faster than Leah :)

Tierra Bella Century Ride

Keigo and I met up in CA to do Tierra Bello, a century ride south of San Francisco. We took a wrong turn in the beginning and had to do some work to catch up to the pack, it was a good thing we could time trial for a bit. Even though it ended with a flat tire, it was a great event. I will probably go out again in an upcoming year.

Update to Steep and Cheap Monitor

I did some cleanup of the steep and cheap monitor and made the layout look a lot cleaner. It is now very similar to the windows version available on the SAC site. It updates every minute and will run on windows or the mac as long as you get the apollo runtime from adobe. I also added some options in case you don't like the sound or the auto popup when it finds new items and fixed a bug where it wasn't always showing the newest item.

You can download version 1.1 here.

Steep and Cheap site monitor

Recently, someone showed me http://www.steepandcheap.com. If you know me well, then you know I love to shop and I really love to get good deals. After trying their plugin for firefox which seems to have a monster memory leak… and not liking that, I tried their desktop app on windows. It was ok, but they did not have a mac version. Well, after playing with Apollo recently, I knew I could write it in no time.

A few hours later, and I have a new program… It is based on Apollo, so you will need the apollo runtime. You can get it from Adobe here http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/apolloruntime.html. They currently have a runtime for winblows and the mac so it should work well on both platforms. After installing that, you can get my steep and cheap monitor here and install it.

Let me know if you like it (you can also paypal me at brad at getasp dot com if you really like it), and if you would like more features.
